Changes at Dillingham Hanson

While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

From May 29, 2020, we resumed normal patient care. Our team has worked diligently to creating a safe environment for you and your family.

Please read through our COVID-19 guidelines as we highlight all the ways that we’re keeping you safe during your dental visit with us.

  • Strict adherence to and a heightened awareness and attention to detail in our infection control protocols.
  • As always, we thoroughly disinfect all surfaces in each operatory after patient visits.
  • When possible, we will stagger patient visits to minimize congestion at check-in and check-out counters and in the reception area.
  • We will have you wait in your car upon arrival to the building until we’re ready for you. You will get a text or call when we’re ready for your visit, again to minimize congestion at the check-in and check-out counters and in the reception area.
  • As always, we will utilize autoclave sterilization protocols for all instruments. Our autoclaves are frequently monitored by an outside laboratory to ensure they are in top operating condition.
  • As always, we will use effective, high quality disinfectants.•We will regularly disinfect our reception area and non-clinical areas of our office, including door knobs, counters, chair arms, and more.
  • We will be screening team members every day before their shift begins to ensure they have no signs or symptoms of COVID-19.
  • We will be screening patients multiple times before their appointments to ensure they have no signs or symptoms of COVID-19.
The screening questions include:
  • Do you have a fever or have you felt hot/feverish recently (14-21 days)?
  • Are you having shortness of breath or other difficulties breathing?
  • Do you have a cough?
  • Do you have any other flu-like symptoms, such as gastrointestinal upset, headache, or fatigue?
  • Have you experienced recent loss of taste or smell?
  • Have you been in contact with any confirmed COVID-19 patients?
  • Our team members will utilize appropriate levels of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to ensure we stay safe and you stay safe.
  • We are in the process of updating our website and switching software systems to allow us to become a “paperless” office, which is preferable from an infection control standpoint.
  • We are continuing to evaluate other infection control measures, choosing to implement what is supported by good scientific data and good professional judgment.
  • We hope that dentists are able to perform COVID-19 testing in our offices for patients and team members in the future. However, this is not yet a reality.
  • As a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the cost of doing business in a dental practice has increased. For now, you will not incur any additional fees and we will absorb these costs. There are significant added costs keeping our patients and team safe. In the future we mayi nstitute a COVID-19/PPE fee which may or may not be covered by your dental insurance.
